There is more than one type of program for substance abuse. The “30 day” inpatient type of a facility is the most intense and suggested for people with chronic addiction problems. Call us for detailed information about the various levels in the “continuum of care”.

Intensive outpatient (IOP) generally offers 1 hour of treatment 3 days a week. Group therapy includes skills training, relapse prevention, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and motivational enhancement therapy (MET). A qualified addiction specialist, trained in the various therapies, leads the sessions.

Partial Hospital Programs (PHP), is also known as “day treatment”. It is a more intensive level of care than outpatient. It provides a half day of therapy 5 times per week. Clients do not stay overnight while being provided therapy and care. This level fills the need of some individuals who need daily treatment, but are unable to attend full-time inpatient residential. PHP provides virtually all the same types of therapy as outpatient on a more intense and regular basis.

Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services
The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) Support for and Recovery Services Division’s goal is to provide persistent, incremental improvements in the quality and effectiveness of substance use disorder treatment which results in better recovery for more people. The ODMHSAS embraces that “recovery is a reality” and that it gives back to individuals, families and communities what addiction has taken away. The Department contracts with 130 providers, operates 3 state residential facilities, has 8 gambling contracts and is in partnerships with 4 advocacy organizations. These facilities are located throughout the state and offer services to all individuals and their families in need of support services. Services provided are designed to meet an individual’s need through the provision of assessments, referrals, withdrawal management (detoxification), outpatient counseling, education, transitional living, and aftercare services. The ODMHSAS also offers programs that are designed for special populations, such as criminal justice, women with children, adolescents, Hispanics and Native Americans.
